"With Happeo, it has always been very easy for us to communicate with our remote employees, and this has been especially true during the crisis.
With the majority of employees working remotely at this time, having a central location for employees to ask questions and collaborate in one place has been invaluable."
- Kyle Anderson, VP Marketing & Communication, State Automobile Mutual Insurance Company
As millions of people have moved to working remotely due to the COVID-19 crisis, the need for distributed collaboration platforms has increased considerably. The move from in-office to remote work means that more and more people rely on digital channels to communicate and collaborate with their co-workers. With this major shift towards remote working, remote-communication platforms have seen significant growth in usage.
As a central place for remote collaboration and communication for enterprises, Happeo too has seen a spike in usage over the past months. We thought it would be interesting to share some insights on how the crisis has impacted our platform’s usage. Here is an analysis of what happened during COVID-19 on Happeo:
The Happeo platform is meant for active communication and collaboration. At its core, Happeo enables easy and open communication between individuals, teams, and functions to keep people aligned and aware of important updates.
As workforces have moved to remote work, we’ve seen a big spike in the average daily messages sent within the platform. Daily average messages have risen from 500,000 at the beginning of the year, to over 2.5 million now, showing us just how much more people now rely on digital communication.
Reactions are one of the most used functions in Happeo. When people are commenting and reacting to different posts, it not only keeps everyone up to date, but also acts as immediate feedback on the post – a good opportunity for employee engagement.
We’ve seen a +77% increase in comment-likes. This tells us that, during these remote times, people have been relying on new ways to feel united. Engaging with someone's post can bring people together and foster a sense of belonging and togetherness within the whole organization – even when "together" means you're working apart. 👫👫👫👫👫👫
DAU/MAU ratio is a widely used metric that showcases the actual engagement of the product. Applications that exceed a 20% DAU/MAU ratio are considered "good", while a 50% DAU/MAU ratio is considered "world class".
Happeo’s DAU/MAU ratio has been steady on both sides, exceeding 50% over the past 12 months. In the last two months we have seen this increase even further. It has been great to see that consistently, more and more users come back to the platform on a daily basis.
At Happeo, we believe that usability is one of the most important parts of an engaging communication platform. The system actually needs to be used by its end users – the people that drive organizations forward!
Over the past twelve months we have paid a lot of attention to how Happeo scales with demand. We have been optimizing our services to respond efficiently to the high loads and peak loads we have been experiencing.
We are happy to say that as our platform loads have increased, we are seeing faster platform response times for the end users. This platform scalability was achieved through carefully designed architecture – one where less servers need to go on/off simultaneously, improving efficiency as usage increases. It has been wonderful to see that the more the platform is used, the faster it gets.
COVID-19 has completely changed our lives and our world – from our daily interactions, to our businesses, and everything in between. We have all shown great strength, as we all have to continue to move forward and adapt to the major changes in our lives. In the meantime, we will continue to find new ways to communicate and connect with one another in this "new normal". Stay safe everyone – and stay connected.
