Happeo
11 mins read
Last year, we focused on building a platform that doesn’t just make day-to-day work easier, but lays the foundation for what comes next.
Our goal was clear: help organizations transform their intranet into a living, trusted, and reliable knowledge hub they can depend on as they grow.
From rethinking how knowledge is created and discovered, to strengthening governance and internal communication, every improvement we shipped was shaped by real customer insight and feedback.
Here’s a look back at what we built together.
PAGES
Central Source of Truth
The biggest milestone of the year was the launch of Pages 2.0 — the largest product overhaul in Happeo’s history.
Pages 2.0 reimagined how teams create, edit, maintain, and scale core company information. The result is a more reliable source of truth for the entire organization — one that’s easier to build, easier to govern, and designed to scale.

With a flexible drag-and-drop editor, improved layouts, reusable templates, and richer widgets, teams gained far more freedom to design pages quickly and confidently — without relying on technical expertise.
At the same time, Pages 2.0 laid the technical foundation for AI-powered capabilities. Some of these were already available last year — including AI-recommended images from Unsplash and AI Page Review — with more advanced AI-assisted content creation coming soon.
We’re already seeing active use of Pages 2.0 more than double the legacy editor, alongside consistently strong customer feedback. It delivers a smoother, more customizable experience — powered by significantly more advanced technology under the hood.
Ownership and Accountability
As content becomes a strategic asset, governance matters just as much as creation — especially for admins responsible for oversight at scale.

Over the year, we completely redesigned the Page Groups view in Admin Settings. What was once a simple list became a clean, interactive interface that gives admins greater visibility and control.
Admins can now explore nested subpages, understand page status at a glance, access deeper insights, update permissions, and filter Page Groups in ways that better reflect real governance needs.
This work also unlocked a long-requested capability: changing Page Group Owners. Previously impossible in the legacy editor, this functionality makes it easy to transfer ownership directly from the Page Groups view or within the editor — keeping accountability clear as teams and roles change.
Consistent Global Branding
As part of the Pages 2.0 rollout, we introduced Brand Styles to help teams maintain visual consistency across their intranet.

Teams can define colors, typography, and style defaults once, then apply them across pages, templates, and sections with ease. For organizations that need tighter control, Brand Style Locking ensures complete consistency by preventing style overrides in the editor.
The result: pages that look intentional, on-brand, and aligned — without slowing teams down.
A Flexible Migration Experience
With the new editor live, a major focus last year was helping teams move their existing content safely and with confidence using the Migration Tool.

While some customers are beginning their migration in 2026, momentum is already strong. The Migration Tool provides a flexible, low-risk way to move pages from the legacy editor to Pages 2.0 without disruption. Many teams have already completed their move, and many others are well past the halfway point.
For some customers, migration became more than a technical exercise. It created an opportunity to clean up structures, retire outdated content, upskill new page owners, and rethink how company knowledge is organized. It’s also been encouraging to see the variety of approaches teams are taking — with feedback consistently reinforcing the effectiveness of the migration experience.
What's Next?
Looking ahead, Pages will continue to evolve beyond the original experience — with a strong focus on flexibility, control, and collaboration.
Coming soon, we’re introducing the ability to move Pages to different Page Groups and delete Pages and Page Groups, giving teams greater control over structure as their intranet grows. We’ll also be enhancing Brand Styles, offering style options across individual elements and widgets.
Beyond that, we’re exploring co-creation along with commenting and approvals, making it easier for teams to collaborate directly within pages — alongside continued improvements to page and structure management already underway.
SEARCH
Faster, Trusted Answers
Alongside Pages, we continued investing heavily in Happeo Search to ensure company knowledge is surfaced quickly, reliably, and in context.

Search remains one of the most important ways people experience Happeo. Over the year, 17 million searches took place — with more than 700,000 AI-powered interactions helping employees get faster, more reliable answers. Toward the end of the year, we also expanded Search AI to mobile, bringing the same intelligent, conversational experience to the Happeo mobile app — so trusted answers are always within reach.
Search improvements didn’t stop there. We broadened our federated search connectors, introducing Salesforce and Microsoft Teams, making it easier to surface knowledge not just from pages and posts, but from CRM data and everyday conversations — finding context where work actually happens.
Across every update, the principle stayed the same: search results must be relevant, permission-aware, and grounded in trusted sources.
What's Next?
Looking ahead, our focus is on expanding how and where trusted knowledge can be accessed — without compromising relevance, permissions, or reliability.
Behind the scenes, we laid important groundwork with the introduction of the Search API and Search AI API. These capabilities allow Happeo Search to extend beyond the platform itself, enabling employees to access trusted company knowledge directly from the tools they already use — such as Slack.
In parallel, we’re investing in deeper and broader indexing, including ongoing work to index Google Drive. Together, these improvements will surface richer, more complete results across connected systems.
As Search continues to evolve, our guiding principle remains the same: deliver fast, permission-aware answers — and make trusted knowledge easy to discover wherever work happens.
CHANNELS
Clear, Controlled Communication
Over the year, we made meaningful progress in how communication works in Happeo — making it easier to contribute to, easier to manage, and more intentional.
Across Posts and Channels, our goal was to reduce friction for everyday contributors while giving communicators the control they need to ensure messages land clearly — whether that means encouraging open participation or maintaining tighter governance for company-wide updates.
Confident Posting
To support more confident communication, we introduced the AI Writing Assistant to help employees draft, refine, and translate content with ease.
Whether tackling writer’s block, adjusting tone, or writing in a non-native language, the AI Writing Assistant lowers the barrier to participation. Available across all Post types — including Announcements and Articles — as well as Text widgets in Pages 2.0, it helps ideas move from draft to published faster, without sacrificing clarity.

We also improved everyday usability with Autosave for Posts and expanded formatting options, including richer media, tables, line breaks, and a dedicated title field. Together, these updates bring more structure and polish to Posts, while keeping the experience fast, lightweight, and easy to use — every day.
Clarity and Control
We continued improving how Posts and Channels can be configured to support different communication needs — balancing ease of contribution with the right level of oversight.
This led to the introduction of Post Moderation, a Channel-level setting that routes posts from non-owners or editors through review before publishing. This helps ensure accuracy and consistency for leadership updates, policies, and other high-impact communications.

Based on customer feedback, we made it possible to disable comments on Posts when discussion isn’t needed. We also enhanced Announcements with customizable banner colors, optional confirmation buttons.
To help ensure important messages are seen, we introduced the Microsoft Teams Bot, bringing feature parity with our existing Slack Bot. This allows Happeo Posts from specific Channels to be pushed directly into relevant Microsoft Teams channels — extending reach while keeping content managed in one place.
The result is a communication experience that adapts to different cultures and use cases, without forcing teams into a single way of working.
Reward and Recognition
We also introduced Kudos, a dedicated way to support employee recognition and reinforce company values within Happeo.

By setting up company values as Kudos badges in Admin Settings, employees can recognize one or more colleagues through Kudos posts in Channels — making recognition visible where teams already communicate.
Beyond Channels, Kudos are also reflected on user profiles and can be surfaced using Kudos Leaderboard widgets in Channels and Pages 2.0, helping teams highlight contributions over time and keep company values front and center.
What's Next?
How internal communication is delivered — and received — is changing. Employees increasingly expect information to be relevant, timely, and purposeful, rather than broadly pushed to large groups.
With this shift in mind, we’re exploring how Channels can support more intentional communication — including ideas around newsletters, campaigns, and more targeted ways to reach the right audiences at the right time.
As always, customer feedback will guide what comes next, as we learn how teams want to communicate and where Happeo can best support more focused, effective internal communication.
GOVERNANCE
Strengthening the Foundations
Alongside new features across the platform, we continued strengthening governance — with a clear focus on access control, clarity of responsibility, and scalable user management.
To better support growing teams, we introduced two new permissions: Analytics and Branding. These dedicated permissions make it much easier to give the right people access to the right capabilities, especially as insights and brand consistency become more central to intranet management.
.png?width=3840&height=1545&name=Permission%20management%20(2).png)
Later in the year, we also refined Admin permissions so that all Admins now have full platform access by default. This removed ambiguity around responsibilities, simplified role management, and made expectations clearer for teams managing Happeo at scale.
Governance also extends beyond access inside the platform. As part of our longer-term direction, we secured an integrations partnership that lays the groundwork for additional provisioning methods — helping enrich user profiles and better align access and grouping with the systems organizations rely on most.
Together, these investments lay the foundation for more accurate and scalable governance as organizations grow.
What's Next?
In 2026, we’re introducing user provisioning, starting with Workday, to make it easier to onboard users, control profile data sources, and keep user information accurate over time.
We’ll also expand support for additional HRIS systems through our integrations partner, allowing teams to connect Happeo to the tools they already trust and manage access and identity with greater confidence.
Alongside this, we’re beginning to explore workflows — separate from provisioning — as a way to make it easier to take action in the platform and reduce ongoing maintenance. This is an early area of discovery, and we’re keen to learn which workflows would be most valuable for teams managing Happeo day to day.
As always, customer feedback will help shape what comes next.
Looking Ahead to 2026
We’re incredibly proud of what we delivered this year — but what’s even more exciting is what it enables next. Behind the scenes, we’ve been building something that brings every part of Happeo together.
Happeo's Knowledge Engine
The Knowledge Engine connects Pages, Search, Channels, and Governance into a continuous loop that helps enrich knowledge and build trust across your organization.
It starts with how employees search for and discover information. Those signals are used to identify knowledge gaps — what people are looking for but can’t find, or can’t confidently rely on. These gaps are surfaced in an intuitive dashboard that highlights key insights and trends, helping teams proactively address them with the right subject matter experts.

With the help of AI, it becomes easier than ever to weave important company knowledge into existing or new content. Backed by trusted sources across, Pages can be created or updated with accurate, on-brand, and governed information employees can rely on.
Once knowledge is improved, it can be communicated intentionally through Channels, reaching the right audiences with relevant updates — and then rediscovered through Search, closing the loop.
The result is a shift from static and manual content management to continuously improving knowledge — where insights drive action, action improves content, and content becomes easier to trust and find over time.
Importantly, this evolution was only possible because of the foundations introduced this year: clearer ownership, stronger governance, better structure, and more flexible creation tools.
The Knowledge Engine is currently in beta, and we welcome you to join the program to gain early access and provide important feedback to shape its development early in 2026. We can’t wait to show you how Happeo AI can transform your intranet into a knowledge hub that scales with your organization.
Final Words for 2025
Everything we shipped in 2025 was shaped by customer insight — from early concepts to late-stage refinements. Your feedback didn’t just influence what we built, but how we built it.
As we look ahead to 2026, we’re excited to build on these foundations — deepening intelligence, expanding governance, and making company knowledge easier to trust, find, and improve — while continuing to strengthen your experience with Happeo.
Thank you for being part of the journey. 💫
