What are invited users and when should I use this feature?

When should I use invitations?

Invitations should be used to invite people that have a Google Account but are not part of your Google Organisation. This means that the users should not have the same email domain as your company. Example use cases are external consultants, third-party companies, subsidiaries etc.

How does inviting users work?

To add an invited user you will need to be a Happeo Admin, go to Admin Settings, and then to the Users tab.

In the Users tab, you will need to select Invitations.

From this section, you will be able to Invite Users by typing in their email address and clicking "Send Invite". You can also monitor invitations that have been sent but not accepted and resend them wherever needed.

Note that after a user has accepted the invitation they will no longer show in the section and will appear in the all users dropdown under Invited Users.

From here you can manage their user permissions.

Ways in which users can be invited to the platform 

 

Entire platform. The invite is sent from the Admin section where the account is then treated as any other internal account.

Channel. External Users are invited individually or as a Google Group to be a part of a specific channel. This means they will receive access to the Channel but also to the (possibly) added Google Drive Folder.

Page group. External Users can be added to a specific Page Group via a Google Group.

 

Please note that with these methods they will not automatically receive access to any Drive related widgets on Pages. Those would need to be shared with the external users still.
